Sports Betting Online >Your BETTING BANKROLL

Training from: The Graduate
Sports Betting University

Be Smart and Confident with Your BETTING BANKROLL

Greetings, The Graduate here. I welcome you to another class at Sports Betting University. I will attempt to fill your spare ‘grey matter’ with important knowledge to assist you in becoming a successful sports bettor.

The lesson for the day will focus on two aspects for sports betting online. First, we will talk about the betting bankroll, and then follow up with a discussion on a sports betting ‘catch-phase’ used for money.

So, ask yourself, “what is your betting bankroll?”

If you think your bankroll is a ton of money, think again, because it ain’t! It is wrong to think your bankroll has to be excessively large. It is the money you have in your pocket, no matter how pathetic it is, which you intend to use for your favorite past time of sports betting. Set your betting bankroll as the amount of money you are willing to wager over a time period, like a day, a week, or a month.

Just make sure to plan your betting budget, and stick to it. That’s all it is, and remember to KISS (keep it simple stupid).

When you go to Vegas, or a casino anywhere, the money you take with you is your bankroll. The cash you have available to place bets on football, baseball, or basketball games, that dude, is your betting bankroll.

Your betting bankroll is just for betting. It is NOT the money to be used for paying the mortgage, or rent. It is NOT the money needed to feed the family, or to pay the household monthly expenses.

The moment your bets exceed your budgeted betting bankroll, take your hand, form a fist, and punch yourself in the head as hard as you can. Hopefully, this will knock some sense into you, because if it doesn't, I guarantee, you will shortly be in financial dire straights.

To sum up, your betting bankroll is the cash you have set aside for the enjoyment and excitement of sports betting online. For success, always make sure to plan, budget, and implement your betting bankroll properly.

Scared Money
When betting sports, the phase ‘scared money’ is used, at times, which refers to the money available in your betting bankroll. So, you ask…

What the hell is scared money in a wager?

No, scared money is NOT the money that always eludes you. You know, that money you always dreamed of having, but seems like you could never get your hands on. No, that’s not it!

Scared money is the cash you are terrified of losing on a wager. When it comes to sports betting, scared money is the money you do NOT want to have when making a wager.

Why? Here’s the long answer…

First off, there is nothing wrong having the fear of losing a wager. However, when sports betting you must also realize you will lose wagers at times, it is inevitable. But when one is constantly scared betting sports, their judgment becomes impaired resulting in scared decisions. And from these decisions, in the long run, guess what happens? The wagers which are made turn out to be totally moronic, and constant losers.

In sports betting, you must give in to the old adage, ‘'you win some, you lose some'’. So if you want to be the ultimate, successful sports gambler, then you must not be afraid of losing a wager. This sense of security is key for confident wagering, without using scared money.

To eliminate this fear of losing, one must be knowledgeable, and comfortable when betting online. This involves understanding two things:
1. how to cut down on your losses, and
2. how to increase your chances of winnings.

That is why we offer this FREE training at the Sports Betting University, so you can learn how to become a successful sports bettor. Just stay in touch with us here, and gain the insight on these two aspects of sports betting online, plus a whole lot more. It will be well worth your time!

How to Become a Loser When Sports Betting Online!!

sports betting online
From: Kid Rockstar
Top 10 Ways To Certain Failure When Sports Betting
Hey there, Rockstar here... For all you sports betting losers out there, I thought I would give out YOUR advice, for how to become a real failure when betting sports.

10 - Use superstition to dictate your betting strategies. If superstition doesn't cure your problem with solvency, maybe you should try betting sports based on the Chinese Zodiac instead. If you're still having trouble losing after turning to tarot to dictate your betting strategies, you may want to implement the other nine strategies mentioned below.

9 - Use your bets to determine your self worth. If you win, clearly you are a rock star, just like me. But if you lose, well, only wimps quit after a losing streak, right? Keep playing, win it all back with one bet, maybe your luck will turn around...

8 - Use your bets to impress people. The bigger the bet, the better, right? After all, the more risk you put forth, the better off you will be, correct? The only impressing thing about this, is the size of an idiot you are!

7 - Forget research. Don't spend any money on books from experts and don't bother trying to learn more about sports betting. All you need is a strategy with a 70 percent return on investment and you'll be generating riches in no time at all.

6 - Pay for advice that you know is crap. Anyone who claims that they win 70 percent or more of their picks on point spreads could win you thousands, right? If these guys are making so much money, why are they spending more time selling their secrets than using them to make their own millions?

5 - Don't pay attention when you gamble. Drink, flirt, goof off. Breaking this rule alone could be why you've been winning to begin with. It is especially fruitful to gamble when you are tired, so stay out late the night before.

4 - Lay as many bets as you can on futures and parlay cards. This is how the big men bet, forget about those sissy bets! Be sure to use that pea-sized brain of yours. Take risks!

3 - Always bet based on your hunches. When sports betting online, place bets based on gut feelings, because this is a really nice short cut to Loserville. If you think you have a sure thing, double up on your bet! You will arrive in Broketown in record time!

2 - Frequently change the size of your bets. Regard the size of your bet like a pry bar, pushing winning streaks and getting even after losing streaks. Change the size of your bets frequently, especially if you have not pre planned your bets ahead of time. After a losing day, you may even consider doubling up. Doubling up may even help you lose if you double up in the middle of a winning streak - After all, a winning streak is guaranteed to last, right?

1 - Always bet more than you can afford to lose. When betting online this is one of the quickest and easiest ways to rid yourself of unwanted assets. Gamble using your rent money, your grocery money, and your alimony payment. Risk more than you can afford to part with.

So now that we have provided a little humor, let's get down to the real story, and learn how to WIN when sports betting online. That's easy, 1) make sure you don't follow any of the aforementioned TOP TEN advice (actually do the opposite), and 2) check out the rest of the resources that are available at this site, and get the real "HOW TO" information.

How to Begin When Sports Betting Online

sports betting online
By: Mystery Bettor

The 'How-To' Overview
Combine two of man's greatest interests and you've got something called 'sports betting'. What could be more ingenious? Imagine a group of men cheering over their favorite team, and almost always, bets are placed along with the hype.

Think about it. In every sport there are always certain highlighted games everyone is talking about; something that, according to sports buffs, will 'change the course of history'. In order to get some of the action, spectators usually attempt to guess who will win in the upcoming games. This all turns into a friendly little game of betting sports.

It might sound addicting, but sports betting is really just for fun and a way to bond with your friends. You can bet a little amount of money and still have a good time. A little sports wager makes the outcome of a game more meaningful, and the whole duration of the game more thrilling and exciting.

However, it has become something much bigger. Can you say 'multi-billion dollar market'? Sports buffs, fans, and enthusiats, along with regular gamblers, all want a piece of this action. So how does someone wager on a sporting event?

To place a bet, all you have to do is go to a sportsbook, which is a place that accepts sports bets. In the United States, there are four states where you can sports gamble legally. In the past, you had to be in one of these states when placing the bet (unless done illegally through a bookmaker, or bookie).

Today all you need is a connection to the internet, and gaining access to a sportsbook is simple, secure, and legal. Just locate a sportbook, establish an account, and you're ready for sports betting online. Be sure the sportbook you choose is reputable. Here are three links to first class online sportsbooks you can check out.

Many of the sports you can bet on are professional and college football and basketball, professional baseball, professional hockey, and horse and dog racing. You can bet on anything that involves sports, really, after all, it is sports gambling.

To make betting sports more exciting, there are wagers that can be played other than picking the winner. You can bet on the overall combined score of a game, on what round will the opponent be knocked out, and even whether a coin toss in a game lands heads or tails. All you have to do is place your bet depending on the statistical odds (chances of winning/losing).

In sports gambling, bookmakers rely on statistics to help you decide which team you think will win. There is also spread betting, where a point spread is established for the game. This is a point advantage, given to the weaker team, that is expected to lose by X number of points. This is odds making; the way of making even bets possible, so the bettor will place, and sportsbook to take, sports bets. For example, a person can bet on a team that is expected to lose, and still win the bet, so long as the team loses by a given number of points.

You might be asked to bet a few notches higher than the money you may actually win. This is really just the bookie's way of making money.

There are numerous types of wagers available when betting online. There are straight bets, parlays, teasers, and over/unders. When betting sports the most common type of bet is the straight bet, where all you have to do is to pick the team which you think will lose or win. Over/under bets are wagers on the combined number of points scored in the game by both teams. Parlays are combined bets on several games. Teasers are similar to parlays, but you can add or subtract points from the spread to make your bets stronger. This is just to show you that sports gambling can be made more interesting and challenging by the bets that you place.

There you go - an overview on sports betting online. Why don't you give it a try, and have a lot of fun in the process. However, if you are new to betting online, I suggest you get some more education first. At Sports Betting Online we offer the training and information you will need for betting sports. It's FREE, so check it out. We don't want you to get too carried away and spend your entire 401K plan on a whim. You just might end up regretting it for life.

Sports Betting Online Intangibles >Use Sense Not Cents

sports betting online

BY: Freaky Fame
Common Sense Sports Betting Online Tips

Consider this wagering scenario. Four teams left, and you are wondering whether you have made a mistake. Maybe New Orleans isn’t really the long shot here. Maybe the Bayou recovery story has a magic all its own, that has buoyed the team to such heights, they will not be denied. What is to be said of the intangibles that seem impossible to quantify, yet seem to play a vital roll with the outcome of betting sports.

While it makes great copy, inspiring sports readers for generations, the bettor has to remain unemotional when determining which “horse” (or team) to back. With cutting edge, value planning models to quantify intangibles for true valuation of companies, I can imagine that the same may be applied to teams for identifying their true “betting value”. However, betting on teams whose value is quantified in dollars is way too risky for any consistency.

Even if you were betting on the Yankees to win, you would still be better looking at their past performance, which in business terms, is a lagging indicator of value.

What does all this translate to? In a word, SENSE, as in common sense. Do not get caught up in the euphoric idiocy of fellow bettors as their unwise gambles pay off. The backside of their foolishness has a sharp sting, and if you are not careful, can wipe you out for years to come. Here are several common sense, sports betting online tips for the football season.

Don’t bet with money you cannot afford to lose. Putting next months mortgage down to cover the spread on a weekend NFL game, is about as foolish as taking that same cash out, pouring gasoline on it, and lighting it on fire. The best bettors are usually those that have the most control over their finances. Every dollar is earmarked and no compromises are ever made.

If that $600 is for groceries, than it will not be spent in full or part on anything other than groceries. Only after managing your finances responsible are you able to earmark some disposable income, that you can afford to lose, towards betting sports.

Winning is easy, losing is hard. Any dope can slam down a c-note and with a monkey’s prowess pick a winner. The difficult thing is knowing how to keep your losses at a minimum. To do this well, one has to be prepared to establish a series of bets or positions, thus limiting your risk. The old adage 'not to put all your eggs into one basket' is worn out, because after all these centuries, it still applies.

Never Bet your Loyalties. If your alma mater or favorite pro franchises have your unending support, season tickets, logo-wear, first born named after famous QB, etc, than do yourself a favor and never bet on that team. When I state never, I mean NEVER. The worst bettors to be around are those that illustrate a gluttony of punishment seldom seen.

Their emotional involvement makes each bet a nail biting stress inducing event that when won only provides temporary relief, but when lost reduces the bettor into a raging monster or a candidate for the Betty Ford clinic. Again betting should never be an emotional activity, and if you bet for your favorite team, you are asking for trouble.

Consistency is Cool. In simple terms, find a system that you are comfortable with, lay the ground rules and never deviate. Consistency with sports betting online means that you will enjoy returns over the long term. By always following your personal rules of your betting strategy (we are assuming this is a strategy based on sound principles of minimizing risk).

Humility keeps you in the money. The ability to admit to yourself when you have deviated from your strategy, made an emotionally based bet or failed to establish a series of positions vs. a large single open position, allows you to learn from your mistakes. People, who are unable to see when they are headed down a bad road of faulty betting, are doomed to repeat their mistakes.

Keep ego out of it. If you make a huge killing one weekend, quietly celebrate with friends and family instead of partying it up. There will be plenty of opportunities to celebrate in a more grandiose fashion when your betting account has accrued winning interest over time.

Only bet what you know. I cannot count the number of times I have seen people start forking over hard earned cash through betting windows at the track or with the sports books when they have no clue what they are betting on. Sure they may understand the basic tenets of putting money down on a horse to win, but what experience do they have regarding horseflesh? Why bet on a greyhound race or a Jai Alai match without having entrenched yourself into the sport itself.

It isn’t enough to just know the rules or which teams, players or animals are better. The more you know about the sport you are betting on, the more it minimizes the risk you undertake when you bet.

Never chase the big story. During the week prior to the game or event, news will come out concerning various aspects of the franchise. If Player A twists his ankle and is probable for the game. The question you only need ask yourself is, if their participation will affect the final outcome. Not all the noise in between.

Sure a star RB may affect the number of points scored, or make it easier for the team to score points, but their absence may not change the final outcome of the game. If that doesn’t change, that chasing the big story by switching sides only costs you unnecessary stress and money.

Finally Don’t Get Greedy. Going for the big one is a sure sign of greed, desperation or both. It can easily turn a one-time event to a habitual downward trend. Nothing can unravel a savvy bettor than getting sucked into the funnel of greed. Becoming subservient to greed means losing your entire discretionary betting portfolio in the short run and in the long run, losing everything else.

Betting sports isn’t for everyone, but for those that do so, remember to use a little common sense, not cents, when putting your money down.

Use Trends When Sports Betting Online

sports betting online
From: Mr. Bling
Spread Betting University LESSON 4

Using Trends in the World of Sports Wagering
Welcome to the fourth lesson from Spread Betting University. I am Mr. Bling and I will be filling in for The Graduate today.

This session will continue with the discussion on the importance of trend discovery when betting sports. In preparation for this class, I reviewed all the previous sessions. While doing this, I felt a particular point should to be explained. Therefore, before we begin with today’s subject, I am going to discuss your expectation on this training.

It has been expressed to me many times over, by betting newcomers who were beginning their training, that the basics on spread betting have little value. They say they want to know about wagering systems, strategies, statistical odds making, and winning probabilities. To this I say, “Great”, but first you have to be educated, before you can be transformed. They would always ask what is meant by this, so I explain.

As we grow up and go through school, we are educated by learning the basics, like reading, writing, math, etc. However, this education rarely teaches us how to apply this knowledge and skills. We are not taught how to apply this education and transform into productive money making opportunities.

Therefore, the point is, the knowledge for spread betting basics is paramount for the transformation to the productive application of sports betting online. The goal of these lessons is to establish an awareness of spread betting, from which a transformation to practical wagering can occur. As the old adage says, “One must learn to walk, before one can run.”

There is an order with this training. With these lessons at Spread Betting University, we are coaching you an awareness for betting sports. Once you have this established, you will be ready for transformation to application, and we will be there to coach you through it. Now let us get on with the lesson of the day.

Spend time looking for trends when sports betting online. As we have already discussed, trends do and will occur. For those of you not familiar with the term, trends are streaks and/or tendencies that are very common in the world of sports. For example, a team could either go on a 14-game winning streak or crumble with a 9-game losing skid. Trends dominate.

In the art of betting sports, do not try to explain these streaks, but rather start having these streaks work for you. Sports bettors live and die with streaks. That is a fact you must be ready to accept, and discover how to use them effectively. Let us explore how streaks can be an ally one day, and an enemy the next.

Let's say you like the New York Mets because, lately, you have won some big money on them, as the Mets are on for a 12-game winning streak. For the Mets next game, feeling confident, you bet half of your winnings, thinking they will surely win again. Unfortunately, the Mets lose and you ended up with only half of your winnings. The problem here is you relied too much on trends, which is the wrong approach.

Yes, you can have streaks work for you, but also be aware that streaks will end. Therefore, when betting online, you must be ready when they do, and adjust your wagers accordingly. Risking half of your winnings on a streak may be the wrong approach. One last thing, is 13 an unlucky number? That is a personal thing for you to decide whether to factor in!

That is it for today, I hope you enjoyed it. The Graduate will return for the next class at Spread Betting University, so stay tuned.

Sports Betting Online: Team TRIO

sports betting online

FROM: The Graduate

Lesson 3
Team TRIO Helps With BETTING ONLINE

Greetings.. The Graduate here. Today I will teach the third lesson on sports betting online from the Spread Betting University. This lesson requires you being familiar with the initial lesson on betting sports principles. If you need to, go to lesson one now.

In the first lesson, you were schooled on the concept of four very important betting online principles. Those four betting principles were the four elements one should memorize, by heart, first before one tries his or her luck in the art of sports wagering. Do not attempt to enter the sports gambling ring without having these principles.

For our lesson today, I will introduce to you, members almost as critical to sports betting online success, called Team TRIO. This team is made up of three very important elements that will help you become a better sports bettor. More importantly, it will help you cut down on your losses.

So it gives me great pleasure to introduce the members of Team TRIO:

  • Theory

  • Logic

  • Trends
Obviously, to succeed in betting sports, you must master the theoretical concepts of this discipline. Furthermore, the ability of taking these concepts and logically apply them to real life betting situations is where it all begins. These two members form the solid foundation from with the third member, trends, is integrated. Trends become the member that varies from betting situations.

These three are a step short of the four betting sports principles, except for trends. Why? Simple. Discover the trend, and it is yours to win. In every betting endeavor, trends always dominate. Do not look for any other explanations because, call it what you will, streaks, trends, or tendencies will always happen. Therefore, when it does, you must have your wagering propositions ready to go along with them.

Learn how to make streaks work for you. Streaks have, and always will, happen. Stop thinking you are some kind of smart-guy, believing you can find a mathematical explanation for them. Instead, make these streaks, or trends work for you.

Who cares why they happen? Just understand trends do occur, and how to identify them. Learn how to use this to your advantage when making your betting picks.

I will be giving you more on trends in the next lesson. There will not be a homework assignment this time. So just be sure to show up for the next class at Spread Betting University.

The Sports Betting Online 50/50 Chance

sports betting online

From: The Graduate

LESSON 2
50-50 CHANCE OF WINNING A WAGER
Welcome back to the Spread Betting University. This is the second class on Sports Betting Lessons. This is The Graduate, and I am back in an attempt to fill your ‘gray matter’ with invaluable information about sports betting online. Once you have graduated from this free schooling, you will have the basis for becoming effective with betting sports.

To begin this lesson, consider this statement, “The chance of winning a bet, for any bettor, is 50-50.” Do you think this is true?

This is the one thing sports bettors do not want to hear. In fact, most of them do not even believe it is true. Well gang, not trying to burst your bubble, but believe it or not, the chance of winning a wager in the sport of gambling, is never better than 50-50.

Take for example in roulette; there is 18 red numbers, 18 black numbers, plus the 0 and 00. That's about a 50-50 chance of one of those two colors will show. The same goes if you bet odd or even in roulette, with eighteen odd numbers and eighteen even numbers. Even high-low bets offer you a 50-50 chance of winning. Eighteen numbers that go from 1-18 are low and eighteen numbers that go from 19-36 are high.

In team sports games, you get to choose one between the two competing teams, hence giving you a 50-50 chance. If you choose the Boston Celtics over the Minnesota Timberwolves, there is a 50-50 chance that the Wolves will beat the Celtics and you hold a loser.

The point is, no matter how good a handicapper you are, from the best professional capper down to the moron on the street, each have a 50-50 chance of winning in the world of betting sports. It is just a matter of how loud you can cheer, and how proficient you can will, your team to win the game, and subsequently, your bet.

Well that is it for this session. For your homework, I would like you to contemplate today’s lesson. What does this really mean when sports betting online? Does anything affect the 50-50 chance? How can the bettor assess this random event to their advantage? These questions, and many more, will be addressed in future classes. See you in the next class at the Spread Betting University, and remember no cutting class!!

Sports Wagering University >School for Betting Sports

sports betting online
Sports Wagering University: School for Betting Sports
From: The Graduate

Lesson One: FOUR SPORTS BETTING PRINCIPLES
Welcome sports gamblers, sports bookies, handicappers, newbie wagers, and anyone who loves the thrill of risking their cool cash on the outcome of a sporting event.

This is initial session on the basic of sports betting online. I'm The Graduate and I will be providing you an education on the aspects of sports wagering required for success. There is no guarantee on your level of success with this schooling, but without this knowledge, your odds of success are at best, 1000:1. Not too hot, so we better get started.

With this first session, I will coach you on four principles essential for your ability to be a successful sports bettor. Without an understanding of these four basic aspects, and the role they play in betting sports, you will have zero chance of being a success. These four principles, which must be applied to your wagering strategy, system, scheme, or whatever you call it, are:

  1. Betting Bankroll,

  2. Knowledge of the Game,

  3. Money Management, and

  4. Discipline.
Betting Bankroll
Betting Bankroll is the amount of money you have available to put on the line, each week, for the thrill and excitement associated with wagering on sporting events. The bankroll should NOT be the funds needed for your monthly living expenses or by tapping into your savings. For the purpose of sports betting, the bankroll should be a budgeted item and/or money set aside, specifically for your gambling desires.

Remember, the bankroll should be cash that you have available, in hand and ready to lose, before making any idiotic wagers. Most bettors will make bad bets at times, so if you do not follow this simple rule, you will be heading for a heap of trouble.

A classic example of this situation would be that of Mr. Du Fess Parker. Mr. Parker allocates $200 per week for his betting bankroll. Having spent all but $20 of his bankroll partying the day before, he bets $100 on a few games, figuring a few wins will cover the bets he intends to make later on in the week.

Mr. Du Fess Parker is a dim-witted idiot and is headed for trouble. He does NOT have the money to cover his wagers in hand, and has compromised the bankroll principle by believing his wagers will be winners. Du Fess has failed to contemplate the situation if his wagers are losers, and the subsequent circumstances. DO NOT put yourself in this type of predicament.

Knowledge of the Game
Obviously, you need to have a considerable amount of knowledge on the sporting event before you can put your bankroll on the line. Having knowledge of the game does not necessarily mean that you have to know the players’ favorite meal, or the name of their first lay.

However, it does mean you must do your homework on the game’s participants. Aside from knowing how the sporting event is played, knowledge of the game requires an understanding of the key match-ups, the teams’ current trends and tendencies, and the health of the key players. This will allow you to come up with a winning proposition, and finally, prevents you from making another uneducated, idiotic wager.

Money Management
Hopefully this is somewhat self-explanatory. It refers to allocation of your betting bankroll in a responsible manner. Money management is 1) what you bet initially, 2) what you bet after a win, and 3) what you bet after a loss. One thing it is NOT, and that is trying to win back your money, from a string of losses, with one huge wager. More on money management will be provided throughout this training.

Discipline
Guts, brains, emotions, logic, an intelligent approach; you name something hard to do and discipline is what is lacking. Once you have established a sound, smart, and successful sports betting online system, you must stick with it and follow it everytime. Only if you discover a flaw in the system, should you change it.

You must maintain control and keep cool under fire. You have to control yourself from betting sports on all of the games scheduled on ESPN. Control what you can control. It will not only save you money, but also turn you into one successful sports bettor when betting online.

That's it for this first lesson. We will be elaborating more on these principles as we proceed with this schooling. Lesson two will be available in a day or two. Your homework will be to deeply reflect on these four principles and make a committment, to yourself, that they will form the core of your sports betting endeavors.

The Proper Betting Mindset
From: Mr. Bling
Betting sports is a game of skill. The challenge is to gather and analyze as much information as you can about the sporting event, weigh the probabilities of each team winning, and subsequently compare your opinion to the oddsmaker's. Make the right judgment and you win. It's as simple as that.

While luck, or bad luck, may be a deciding factor in the outcome of any sports betting event, and will inevitably affect you on occasion, it will balance out in the long run. Being a consistent winner of sports betting online, is not about luck, but instead, results from three factors:
  1. Investing the time and effort to become knowledgeable about the sports you bet on.

  2. The ability to understand and weigh all the pertinent variables in a smart, non-emotional, objective fashion.

  3. Adopting a consistent, disciplined, long-term approach to a betting online system or strategy.
Do all these effectively, and you will come out a consistent winner.

Remember, it's you against the oddsmaker, not the bookmaker. The bookmaker is simply a middle-man who operates on a small profit margin. Ideally, he likes to see half the money wagered on one team and half on the other, assuring him of a profit. If too much of the money goes on one team, the bookmaker will move the line, or point spread, to encourage bets on the other team in an effort to balance his book.

The person you are attempting to beat is the oddsmaker, and his views on each team's chances. Just by flipping a coin you will be right 50 percent of the time. At odds of 10/11, only 52.4 percent of your wagers have to win, for you to overcome the bookmaker's profit, and break even. Therefore, you need only a very small edge to become a winner at sports betting online.

Ultimately, your goal is to be profitable, so don't get greedy. By doing your homework, and betting sports selectively, a 55% win rate is definitely achievable. However, 60-65% is a more realistic goal, and at this level you will have an extremely enjoyable, and profitable betting online venture.

Sports Betting Online>Overview of Sports Betting

Sports Betting Online
Source: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
From: The Player

Overview
Betting sports
is the general activity of predicting sports results by making a wager on the outcome of a sporting event. Spread betting opportunities are among the strategies used in sports wagering. Perhaps more so than other forms of gambling, the legality and general acceptance of sports betting varies from nation to nation. In the United States, the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1994 makes illegal to operate a "spread betting, gambling or wagering scheme", except for in the states of Delaware, Nevada, and Oregon.

Nevada, however, is the only state that currently allows betting sports. In many European nations, bookmaking (the profession of accepting sports wagers) is not illegal, but is highly regulated. Proponents of legalized sports betting online generally regard it as a hobby for sports fans, which increases their interest in particular sporting events. The outcome is a benefit for the leagues, teams, and players of the sport, through higher attendances and television audiences.

Opponents fear that, over and above the general ramifications of gambling, it threatens the integrity of amateur and professional sport, the history of which includes numerous attempts by sports gamblers to fix matches.

Although proponents counter that legitimate bookmakers will invariably fight corruption just as fiercely as governing bodies and law enforcement do. Most sports bettors are overall losers as the bookmakers odds are fairly efficient. However, there are professional sports bettors that make a good income betting sports.

Odds Making for Sports Betting
Odds for different outcomes in a single bet are presented either in European format (decimal odds), UK format (fractional odds), or American format (moneyline odds). European format (decimal odds) are favoured in continental Europe, Canada, and Australia. They are the ratio of the full payout to the stake, in a decimal format. Decimal odds of 2.00 are an even bet. UK format (fractional odds) are favoured by British bookmakers. They are the ratio of the amount won to the stake. Fractional odds of 1/1 are an even bet. Moneyline odds are favoured in the United States. They are the amount won on a 100 stake when positive and the stake needed to win 100 when negative. Moneyline odds of 100 are an even bet.

Odds-format Comparison
Decimal........1.50.....2.00....2.50....3.00

Fractional.....1/2......1/1.......3/2.....2/1

Moneyline...-200...+100....+150...+200

Conversion Formulas
Decimal -> Fractional = x-1 , then convert to fraction

Decimal -> Moneyline = 100*(x-1) if x>=2; -100/(x-1) if x<2

Fractional -> Decimal = divide fraction, then x+1

Fractional -> Moneyline = divide fraction, then 100*x if x>=1; -100/x if x<1

Moneyline -> Decimal = (x/100)+1 if x>0; (-100/x)+1 if x<0

Moneyline -> Fractional = x/100, then convert to fraction if x>0; -100/x, then convert to fraction if x<0

Sports Betting Online >Mystery Bettor Power Team

sports betting online
Greetings my fellow Americans from Mystery Bettor, aka Mr. Sports Today. I hope this will be the first of many daily altercations together, as we begin on a journey for truth, justice and the American way.

I have a wonderful staff working for me who have various power identity personalities. Depending on the current situation and the task at hand, I will utilize one of the these personalities to address it. The picture on the post identifies which power personality was assigned the project.

To begin with we have The Muscle. He deals with the situations that require physical power and strength. Over time you will understand The Muscle, as well as the rest of the power staffers.
You will see what makes each tick and how they function, when, and why. Let me introduce you to the rest of my power team.

Next we have The Graduate, who holds all the intellectual power. When the situation calls for using 'brains' to solve the problem or issue, then you'll see The Graduate transformation. The majority of the time is all about brain power.

The Player is all about good ole' spiritual power, and is around quite a bit. However, at times he may seem a little confusing, or just completely 'out of this
world'. Well hells bells, baby, that's because he is. You see, although The Player is a godly-sort of chap, he is also a wanderer within the universal, dark, and unknown realms.

Any then there's the emotional Freaky Fame. Fame is known to have a heavy influence on all the other power persomalities, but he is shy (imagine that) and does not like the limelight (although he wants to be famous). He does not come out in public much, but his influence sure does. But don't be shocked when you see the sweet Freak, because he does appear from time-to-time.

There are also two junior staffers. First we have Kid Rockstar, and you guessed it, he likes to 'party like a rock star'. Although he partys hard, he also works hard. The Kid will call it like he sees it, and as he says, "I don't care if I piss off them lame f#!%ing pricks, or not!!".

The other junior staffer is Mr. Bling. Other than having gobs of bling, we don't know much about him, because he does not talk about himself. You see, Bling is a fast moving, mystifying energy who is here one second, and gone the next. He will leave you either scratching your head, rolling your eyes, or, most of the time, laughing.

There you have it, the power team. And for now, there ain't no more, so until later...
